The First Lady

Whatever else she may be, Michelle Obama is rapidly becoming a style icon of enormous magnitude. Her chic, vintage inspired combinations flatter her figure while maintaining modesty and sophistication.

She truly has a beautiful sense of style.

One of her excellent staples is wide belts, nipping in the waist at the smallest part of the ribs.

Do:

-Wear the wide belted over a long cardigan (see the peach combo)

-Wear Contrasting  and monochomatic belts.  The matching belt makes a softer statement, so vary it depending on the desired look.

-Wide and skinny belts. If you havn’t tried a wide belt- do it now.

You, know I’m surprised at how quietly impressive she is to me. Whatever her husband may be, I have been pleasantly surprised by her grace, sophistication and dedication as a wife and mother.

The above outfits are just what you have said. Sadly however its not always the case. Some outfits have just gone down to far.

  3. Yea, some have- but overall she’s just elegant.

I might not agree with her politcally, but I love Mrs. Obama’s style! She truly has the classy look of Audrey Hepburn in a way

I don’t know much about the first lady, haven’t really been to into the Obama family, but she appears to be a beautiful and sophisticated lady. Kudos to her sense of style!

P.S. I simply love the peach outfit!

I really don’t like her sense of style to be honest.

Sorry, but I don’t like her style either! Those much-too-vivid colors don’t always flatter her skin-tone- that pink dress in the above pic, for instance. And I don’t like those belts, especially the black ones, which sometimes seem to do nothing but unflatteringly cut her figure in two. I can’t explain why, but it’s almost painful to me to hear she’s compared to Audrey Hepburn… She’s a remarkable person, I agree, but I just don’t see her as a style icon at all.

  8. well, it doesn’t work for everyone. But I sure love how she wears dresses so much!

I was wondering whether you’d make an article about her style!

^ I made a few fashion icons featuring Mrs. Obama. I disagree with her politically in most ways, but she exudes a certain kind of confidence and class.

I agree with lissie, I do not like her sense of style at all :(

…Her sense of style is compared to Audrey Hepburn? AHHH…

    that is SO not right…

I think the belts would work on a person with a long torso. The belts seem to shorten the torso. (i.e. look at the peach dress…or maybe it was just because she wore the belt like wayyyy high..hmmm)

I like Mrs. Obama’s style a great deal! After looking at mostly pastel suits in the White House (with red and blue being the only exceptions), it’s a breath of fresh air to see our First Lady wear beautifully bright colors!

  13. Alicia says:

I agree with Lissie. No offense to anyone that likes her style. Like C-T said, it doesn’t work for everyone!

  14. I love, love, LOVE the far-right, coral colored dress.
