Meet Linda, my mannequin. She’s pretty shy about meeting new people, but not when she’s wearing my favorite style, Lady-like posh paired with laid back (almost shabby) accents.

What’s Linda wearing:

vintage pencil skirt w/ white cotton shirt

cropped canvas jacket

layered jewelry

leopard ballet flats

Like it ? Hate it?

I think its cute, but It would be better with a black shirt underneath, and and a different necklace maybe? like a layered vintage-y necklace? Just my opinion!

  2. Gabriel says:

Love it! It reminds me of the leading lady in a noir mystery. Very stylish!

  3. LadyG says:

    That skirt is amazing. :D

    I like the rug, too…. ;)

  4. Alexandra says:

Oh my word!!!! That is SOOO adorable! I’d wear that any day…got to put together an outfit like that…except I’m a heels girl so I’d change that… ;-)

I think that the outfit is so darling! The red is a little bold for me, but I am sure that I could end up making it. I am not so sure about the brown jacket with the black belt…do you have any any other colors that might work with that-maybe black? By the way, the shoes are beyond cute!!!

  6. Kate says:

Love the look as a whole, though I’m not wild about the shoes.

It’s ok… I wouldn’t put the jacket with the skirt, personally. LOVE the belt! The necklace is super cute. Tell Linda she has great taste in clothes! lol

  8. so I think the perfect pair of shoes for this outfit is really my crocodile pumps. They’re perfect.

Hello Linda, nice to meet you! I hope to be seeing more of you around here :P I like this Christa, it’s very pretty. Not really my style (I’m kinda punk, edgy chic, sorta maybe o.O Lacey Mosley I love her style, so girly yet edgy!)

I like it a lot. I don’t think I would wear the canvas jacket, probably a blazer instead. Since I don’t have much of a waist, I don’t think this outfit would look good on me, but my sister would love it.

  11. Rebecca says:

I would wear the whole outfit except the shoes, not because they are not cute. But for me they are little too out there and I have never been a fan of cheeta. Some can pull it off and still be chic as I am sure you do Christa. Its just not me. Maybe I would do a white, brown, black, or even a blue shoe!

Love it though! that jacket is great and I love the red skirt!

  12. Grace H. says:

Absolutely love it!!! I think the skirt is my favorite piece! I’d have to agree with everyone else about the shoes, though. The cheetah flats are cute, but don’t seem to fit very well. Crocodile pumps sound really cute!

Linda looks fabulous, thanks for introducing her to us. :)

  13. Jessica says:

    Adorable!

  14. Emily C. says:

Love it! The jacket is absolutely adorable.

I am absolutely in love with this outfit. The only thing I would probably change would be the flats. Can’t help it. I’m 4″10 and I love me my heels. I’d love to see the blouse under the jacket. I have so much trouble finding lovely, ladylike blouses.

    Cute outfit! :D

I have a quick question to ask: lately I have enjoyed trying to put together new outfits from my wardrobe, and there are times when I find something that looks cute together, but it is either with blue, brown, or black. Which of these threesome would be okay to wear together–blue with brown, for example.

    Thanks!

    • It’s becoming increasingly common to pair more typical “base or neutral” colors together. Blue and Black is very common, and widely accepted. Brown and black can also be very chic.

When pairing base colors together I generally keep one color as the base, and the other as the accent.

      - black dress —> keep all your accessories brown.
-Navy skirt, white blouse —>black belt, black pumps, black purse

mixing any more than two base colors can be difficult.

I love pairing a black sweater with a bright colored tank underneath. (once I put like a bright mint green tank underneath, I think it looks cute! Also, I love blue and brown together! So lovely!

Very cute! I think I would stick w/the white shirt!

  18. Megan H. says:

Like it!! Except, I think everybody’s right on the shoes. Like ‘em, but they don’t quite flow with the look. :)

Can I start a petition that you feature Linda more often? She has some great things to say! :)

Oooh! Love it! Especially the shoes. I’d love a pair of shoes like that!
