How to wear Natural Curls
I love when girls own their curls- here’s a simple “how to” to manage those locks.

You don’t see a lot of natural curls on the red carpet, which is a shame since Ruah proves it’s a beautiful look. Use a curl defining cream (like Hair Phat Curl Defining and Thickening Cream, $28) to keep them looking soft and not crunchy and touch up your curls with a curling iron (or use an iron on your whole head if you have straight hair naturally) for more definition.

Thanks so much for this tip, Christa! I have the type of hair that is right between wavy and curly (though it does straighten nicely, too…IF I take the time do to it), and sometimes I can get so frustrated with it when I compare it with other girls’ hair!
I’ll keep this in mind next time I am tempted to just toss it up in a ponytail/bun!
I’am the same way….except I have extremly curly hair!!!
But I complain all the time, and say I want straight hair….
We just don’t know how lucky we are! Other women would die
for our hair….. But nevertheless we still complain!!!
Thanks for this Christa!!! Maybe I’ll start to appriciate my hair!!!
Ever since I discovered the joys of having curly hair and knowing how to deal with my own type, (Working with my hair rather than against it), I’ve really loved having curls! I hardly ever want straigt hair because so many people do have straight hair. I like to be different and my curls are different and unique in their own way. I’ve found that John Frieda “Frizz-Ease Take Charge Curl-Boosting Mousse” works so great to protect my hair from going crazy. It also creates a soft-to-the-touch look. So far it’s been my favorite type of mousse.

My tip is to use conditioner every time you shower, and blow-dry with a diffuser. I recently came to love my curly hair, and now it’s so much more refreshing to just leave it be than worry about a straightner!
Just had to add what I learned from your sisters blog! I absolutley love using coconut oil on my hair (out of the shower) and a natural homemade shampoo. Best curls I’ve had with no crunch! The following is her article, all the comments are helpful too as each persons hair is different. http://www.passionatehomemaking.com/2008/08/homemade-natural-hair-care-shampoo-recipe.html#more-1192
