Submit Your Ideas
Our ET blog graphics need an update, so we have a photo shoot scheduled for yours truly next week. With all the scheduling, I haven’t had time to brainstorm for some photo shoot ideas….
The theme of the shoot is “going against the flow” – pictures for the blog banner (the graphic at the top of the page), future posts, and misc media.
Any ideas on how to capture our theme on camera?

Sounds fun! I envision a traditional, classically dressed modern day woman smilign and walking against a tide of women wearing sloppy, unflattering fashions that the world tells us is “in”.
I see 1) You wearing a pretty dress/ cute outfit standing in a creek, river, etc. whatever you could be in that you could stand/ walk in “against the flow.” (Yes… I know it’s January and would be reeallly cold!
)
2) You posed standing at some point at which you could overlook perhaps the portland skyline? I’m picturing standing on top of a brick wall, or something similar… perhaps wearing red heels!
Hope this helps a bit!
I’m picturing a dark tunnel of hard, sharp, icky objects, and then you coming out like a light beam – hair blowing back, in something beautiful, soft, and bright.
Are you familiar with Photo Booth on Mac? If so, look at the Light Tunnel effect and sort of run with that idea.
I was thinking walking against a tide of water or people….or maybe someone in brightly dressed clothes against a black and white background?
Hope this helps!
I see a rainy street full of dark umbrellas and darkly clad worried people all going one direction, and one happy, lady with a red umbrella walking the opposite way:-)
I picture you dressed in a bright, maybe full-skirted outfit, standing “empoweredly”
facing the camera while a bunch of women in drab power suits fill the street. Or for your banner you could have women wearing drab workwear standing in a line, and you at the end of the line, sort of leaning against the end of the banner and smiling. I like the idea of showing that they’re not the real rebels, you are.
Perhaps using wind as a way to show movement while you stand still (in a strong pose?)…wind-blown hair or leaves/something blowing/swirling.
What about at a mall or along a row of clothing stores? You could walk in one direction “against” the grain of the stores and maybe glancing back and smiling. Wear red lipstick!

Hi,
There is a ton of things you could do with this.
Have a soft background of the backs of people in less than colorful fashions i.e. perhaps black & white with your model looking forward in something bright and colorful. Also, you can create a bunch of people around her (backs to the camera) with the model in the middle.
Hopefully it helps.
