Hi Christa,
It’s wonderful to know that there are young ladies out there who are encouraging modesty. Thanks for standing up for what’s right in a fashion world that is full of sensuality.
I do have a question about your ideas about modesty – what exactly are your “modesty standards?” I assume that you endorse the styles that are featured in this short video. As I watched it, I was confused – these young ladies are supposedly modeling modest clothes, but I could not see what exactly this word “modesty” means to them. I thought perhaps it means no cleavage showing… and then there were outfits showing cleavage. Then I thought that it might mean not to tight or too short…and then there were outfits shown that fit that description. And on top of that, the whole attitude of the models and the poses they were getting into were very sensual in nature. I guess I just want to know what exactly is modest about this video. Maybe I’m missing something.
I don’t want to discourage you…I am just simply very confused.
Maybe you could provide your own definition of what modesty is.
Thanks, Jennifer Nelson

Hello! I need some serious summer fashion help! I live in the sunny south, and I mainly wear skirts. So I am constantly surrounded by people who live in tiny shorts. Can someone give me some ideas for summer fashion that are cute AND modest? I don’t want to uncover myself, but I do tend to stick out in a crowd! Thanks!
Capri pants are a good option, as are jeans rolled up to the knee (one large cuff).
In my humble opinion, skirts can be some of the cutest summer fashion available. Look for knee length (I wear bottom of the knee/slightly below), full, cotton (or similar fabric) skirts. I tend to find them at thrift stores, but sometimes you can find them long enough at Kohls or some place similar. My preferred style is tiered and multi-printed, so you have lots of colour options to work with when choosing what to wear with it. Somewhat shorter skirts or short dresses can be paired with capris, if that’s something you’re comfortable with. Hopefully this is helpful and not just the exact look that you’re trying to get away from.
Oh, one more thing – these skirts can tend to be both thin and a bit floaty on a breeze, so investing in a long slip (just above the knee) is a good idea if you’re wearing them without capris or pants underneath. Best of luck beating the heat in a super cute way!
She wears skirts not pants… I would get some knee length skirts and put thingp leggins
Under them.. or my family always wears skirts too but recently I started getting crops and wearing long shirts and dress s over them so it was trendy and modest hth! Like u said its about modesty
If u cover ur behind and chest it. Doesn’t necessarily stand out in the crowd
I’ve been in the same situation as u don’t worry;)
Thanks! I do that some, but I’m always running out of ideas.
Thanks so much Christa for your support of Teen Identity and all you do. Your clothes helped kick up this photo shoot 2 or 3 notches! Looking forward to being able to do more with you.
I’ve been missing this blog.
Hope you are having a lovely, happy summer Christa!
Don’t stress out about posting. We all get busy at times.
