There’s been a lot of talk lately about teens and tweens being bombarded with increasingly graphic sexual images at younger and younger ages, and how that’s affecting their worldview—see 11-year old Jessi Slaughter, thongs for 12-year olds, and, uh, Gossip Girl, esp. Taylor Momsen. Sometimes we’ll walk past the junior’s department and wonder where kids shop if they don’t want midriff-bearing, low-cut, skin-tight tops, dresses, and pants.
What do you think about this company concept? Would a company marketing itself as intentionally “modest” stop you from ordering from them?

Fashion Reporter Teri Agins from Wall Street Journal answers readers’ questions
Q: I notice many young women have no shame about letting their bra straps stick out in halters and tank tops. I am traditional, and I think it looks crude, but since so many women are doing it, maybe it’s now acceptable. What do you think?
A: I recently spoke with a teenager who was wearing a tank top with her bra straps showing. She said that was OK because it was summer. ( HA!) Well, I vote no to showy underwear, regardless of the season. Exposed bra straps are sloppy, unladylike and hideous at work.
With a little effort, you can rock your favorite summertime fashions–and keep your bra straps hidden. If your dress just barely covers your shoulders, you can get y with a bra that has clear plastic straps. But a convertible bra will allow you to attach the straps in different ways for all types of shoulder-baring fashions. Some dresses and tops also work well with a racerback bra- the straps connect like a T in the back.
My opinion, Bra straps are tacky. Showing Bra cups is even worse- I think slut, not sure what guys think, but I doubt it’s thoughts of respect and admiration towards women.
Question for thought: Why do we make a big deal about bra straps but let swimsuits pass just fine?
